Our Experiences
Building Belonging
The Nervous System’s Pathway to Meaningful Connection
-
For anyone who feels stress, anxiety, or fear have kept them from expressing their most authentic self and/or from robust connection to others.
-
This course centers on how our nervous systems govern our sense of connection and disconnection throughout our lives.
Participants will learn to reclaim and foster connection in their lives through attending to the three Cs of nervous system safety: Context, Choice, Connection. These three Cs make up our nervous system’s basic needs to feel secure and safe. Each C category needs to be supported in order for our systems to be open to meaningful connection. Participants will learn the role each C has to play with regard to nervous system wellness, how neglect or threat to the three Cs can cause stress, anxiety and disconnection, and they will be offered solutions to restore each of their own Cs.
Reclaiming Body and Spirit
Decolonizing Faith through Embodied Ritual
-
This course is for anyone who would like to deepen their spirituality through embodiment practice, and/or anyone who wishes to wrestle with the histories of colonial religion and reclaim ancestral wisdom while challenging harm religious institutions have caused.
-
Our body is the vessel that carries us through our lives and it is the keeper of our experience. Our body remembers and holds our fear, doubt, shame, anger, and regret, as well as our joy, passion, love, wonder, and contentment. Our experience of divinity is no different. Our body is holy and it is a container for the sacred.
In this course participants will learn to build a spiritual practice led by their own bodily wisdom and experience. Students will be taught how to create their practice with humility and respect for cultural context. We will also cover how different religious traditions have been sources of rupture, disembodiment and disconnection. Students will be invited to reclaim parts of these traditions, and guided through how to disentangle ancient wisdom from complex histories of harm in order to support liberative practices here and now.
